Diana Bryer is a folk artist who combines intricate symbols with colorful child-like images. The artist only uses oils to get the depth that she wants in her paintings. Her oils are often painted on linen instead of cotton so the imagery will last. She uses very bright colors that unite sophistication with a refreshing naiveté. A favorite of the artist is coyotes. To the artist the coyote represents hope that human beings will endure along with animals.

Bryer's paintings represent her personal philosophy that are important issues to all of us and that is a world at peace, preservation of the environment and the abolition of cruelty to all creatures.
