| Schaare's style is considered tempered realism. He works exclusively in oils. His subject matter remains the same in all his paintings, Indians, cowboys and the U.S. Cavalry, in that order. This artist who once earned a living as an illustrator describes the difference in illustration and fine art as the difference between painting to please someone else and working to please yourself. His work was first seen in Arizona and eventually he moved his gallery to Santa Fe. His style is not only dramatic but distinct. |
