| This contemporary pop artist specializes in Western art. His canvases hang in private collections, art museums and corporate offices throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. His most popular images are strong female western imagery. Both the man and the artist relate to strong women, women who are self-contained, women who will not portray themselves or allow others to portray them as second class citizens. Schenck's original style of flat art with a combination of comic book style and paint-by-number approach is all his own. Although many have tried to imitate his style he is the inventor. It is predicted that when art history books are written, his name will join those of Fritz Scholder and Luis Jiminez as the three artists who pioneered a fresh, contemporary movement in western art. |
